Working out ain’t my thang

Working out? not me.
As all my friends come and go to and from college, one thing is consistent. The amount they either do or do NOT work out. This is coming from a girl who played sports all her life spending her Sunday mornings conditioning in the 100-degree heat. I now spend my Sunday mornings sitting on my comfy bed, in the AC, writing articles about other people working out. I never thought I’d see the day where I wouldn’t be forced to run, jump, slide, did I mention running? That day turned into a few months and I found myself still sitting in the same spot, on my bed, doing absolutely nothing. Now living in Fayetteville, one of the most amazing places to hike, known to everyone who’s anyone, I felt the drive to be more active.

Okay, maybe I’ll work out a little…
Thinking about leaving my house in the summer sounds like an absolute nightmare, and I know I’m not the only one. Now if you’re my parents and can afford a bitchin’ cycling bike to have in your air-conditioned bedroom then cheers to you. If you’re like me and have to occasionally chose between eating lunch or paying your Netflix bill then you’ve definitely come to the right place. I don’t think to pay for a gym membership is necessary, all you need is a solid pair of running shoes, leggings, and a nice airy tank top. You can download any type of free workout app and do a 20-minute workout that kicks your ass just the same.

Okay fine! I’ll do it. When I do actually get around to working out in my oh so busy schedule, I mainly just like to go for walks. My sister and I grab out water bottles and go for about a two-mile walk down the Arkansas bike route that loops around our apartment. It’s not as bad as you think once you get going. As long as you bring along a friend who’s just as out of shape as you are so you can both die slowly together! It also does, in fact, get easier the more you do it.
